intro to Yoga + Feldenkrais® self paced course with Sarah Baumert

An eight lesson self-paced course with Sarah Baumert
This series was originally taught live and is suitable for beginners.

These classes are an interdisciplinary excursion of Yoga, Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement, self-massage, breathing exercises, movement puzzles, and a compassionate mindset to help you feel a greater sense of ease and comfort in yourself.

Each class will help you increase your ease and efficiency in movement, improve your flexibility and coordination, and rediscover your natural capacity for graceful and organized movement through these classes.

I just wanted to reach out to tell you that your Yoga + Feldenkrais series in two sessions has given me some awareness, language, and reach that I have been craving for literal years. I am so glad to have connected with you and I hope to be able to constantly share this work with more people.

This will be a nonjudgemental, un-intimidating space to create friends with your body (yourself!), and will specifically focus on helping settle the nervous system during these challenging times.

Sarah will share some of the exercises and techniques that she has found to be most effective to bring awareness and a feeling of expansiveness to the body, creating a balance and calming effect to the nervous system.

I have felt pain in my lower back for weeks now. I went for walks, I moved around, stretched, massaged, took baths, but no relief. I started to get a little worried - then, to my surprise after I had completed the hamstring lesson it was just gone. Just like that. Amazing! Thank you!
— Cassandra

This novel and gentle approach to yoga asanas is appropriate for everyone.

  • No previous experience with the Feldenkrais Method or Yoga is needed to participate.

  • Practitioners and those with experience are welcome too!

Train your sensitivity in such a way that you find yourself feeling more alive and vibrant.

Your way of approaching yoga was new and it made much more sense to me than other ways that I have been taught. Some moments I really really worked hard (isometric exercises), some felt really good (to my surprise!), and I was almost always curious about what comes next. Maybe it’s the slowness and diligence, which I appreciate a lot! Maybe it’s how you speak to it and the movements we make. It feels very comforting to know that there is something I can do on my own to bring ease into my body.
